A commercial industrial contractor, restoration contractor, and software developer for the restoration industry and franchisor for over 35 years, Jerald Rudick now is working as a consultant for the administrative automation and management of the restoration industry. He is currently a strategic consultant for Cabinet-NG®, a document management software and JobView®, a restoration industry accounting software.
Prior to receiving his Bachelor of Business Administration from Ohio University in Athens Ohio in 1969, Rudick worked as a labor and carpenter apprentice on commercial construction projects.
In 1972, Rudick joined Ben Rudick & Son, Inc. his family’s commercial, industrial and engineering consulting and construction business. He managed both the construction and consulting businesses. He served as the CFO and automated all financial reporting processes.
Rudick launched the insurance restoration division of Ben Rudick & Son, Inc. . He developed the division’s unit prices, sales, marketing, estimating and job costing. Rudick also launched National Fire Repair, Inc. an insurance restoration franchise division of Ben Rudick & Son, Inc. During his career he has written or supervised thousands of restoration and commerical construction estimates.
In the early to mid 1980’s Rudick wrote and marketed a computerized estimating system that he marketed to other contractors and to insurance companies that allowed them to produce accurate, timely estimates. He also wrote a database program that is still used in the restoration business track jobs, leads and customers.
In 1990 Mr. Rudick purchased Ben Rudick & Son. In June of 2002 his company was awarded the Better Business Bureau Torch Award for Marketplace in Ethics. In 2008 he sold the successful restoration business.
Community Involvement
Mr. Rudick is Secretary and on the Board of Directors of the National Association of the Remodeling industry (NARI) Minnesota. NARI is a not-for profit trade association representing the largest network of professional remodelers in the United States.
Mr. Rudick is on the Board, the Executive Committee and the Finance Committee of the Minneapolis/St. Paul Sholom Community Alliance which serves seniors with 765 beds for Nursing home care, assisted living space and independent living facilities.
Mr. Rudick is a volunteer with the Minneapolis chapter of SCORE. In addition to being a counselor for small business he is the Chairman of the communications committee. He facilitates the Constant Contact communication program for SCORE chapter events.
Mr. Rudick served as treasurer and co chaired a building committee for a non-profit, 72-bed, long term care facility. The building committee oversaw a $1.5 M remodeling project. He served on the budget committee of a non-profit Federation that oversaw the long term care facility. The Federation serviced all ages including pre-school, fitness center, Social Services, Assisted Living and many other community services. As well as serving as President of religious institution for four years he served as treasurer, secretary, vice president and other offices and committees.
Mr. Rudick participated in Junior Achievement’s America Works Program. He was also involved in Kiwanis International.
